satin bridesmaid dress for evening summer wedding?
I have been asked to be in a bridal party as a bridesmaid and have been given a color for the dress but not a style. I found a dress I really like but the fabric is satin and am wondering if I can wear a satin (knee length) dress to a July evening wedding? I know the bride will let me wear whatever I want so I want to ask everyone else, will this look ok? Is this appropriate?
Is taffeta more comfortable for summer? Or is it pretty much the same? I will be in a hot/humid location so I’m changing my mind about the satin based on your responses.
Satin will absorb sweat and usually will show up with a dark spot. Satin looks pretty but if it is humid you will probably end up very uncomfortable. It also depends on the color of the satin and how noticable the sweat may be.
