Is it OK for the groom to see the bride in her dress right before the wedding for pictures?
My fiance is worried that seeing me before the wedding in my dress will spoil him seeing me coming down the aisle for the first time. If you have been a groom please tell me what you think. We could take the pictures after the ceremony but it will be inconvenient for our guests (who will be waiting around for us to join them in the reception).
NOT AT ALL! I did that. Our photographer wanted all the pics done before the wedding to save time between the ceremony and the reception. My husband and I had no problems with it. I met another photographer a few years back for a wedding I was in and she said she liked to take the bride and groom into an empty room, blindfold the groom first, and then take their pictures as he takes the blindfold off for the first time. I thought it was a great idea! She said it was because you really can’t get pictures of his reaction when he first sees you because there is obviously space inbetween and usually they have to get pics of the bride walking up with her father or whoever.
So, I told my photographer I didn’t care if we did pics before as long as I got to do the blind fold bit. It turned out really sweet and I got to see his face up close when he first saw me.
