Is the US being racist by having a miss black america pageant and not having a miss white america pageant?
Is it only whites that can be racist? It seems like many other ethnicities have their own holidays, pageants, etc. but whites can’t have their own because we would be called racist. Why is this?
Is it only that black-specific organizations and celebrations get noticed? There is are Latin American beauty pageants, Miss Asian American beauty pageants, among others.
I still don’t see how people are not understanding this.
The reason ethnic groups have their own pageants is because not many non-white women even win the “normal” beauty pageants. The “normal” beauty pageants are made specifically for white women, though I know many have yet to come to terms with this.
No it is not racist to have a Miss Black America or a Miss Asian America.
Whites don’t need a Miss White America pageant because Miss America has been white pretty much 85% of the time.
