Suggestions for Aug. wedding vow renewal..?
I am in the process of planning an outdoor wedding (renewal) at a nature preserve full of trees, indian mounds & overlooking the ocean. We’re doing a very natural “barefoot” theme, I’m considering a vintage ivory gown & the kids dressed as fall colored fairies. I would like suggestions on a more “natural” looking wedding arch & decor suggestions for the pavilion reception. I’ll be doing most of the work myself, I make cakes & do floral arrangements on the side – but for this I’m drawing a total blank! Suggestions on the entire wedding & reception are welcome!
I have to keep the fairies… sorry! I don’t mean tacky halloween leotard fairies, I am talking about very detailed – handmade (by me) dresses, head pieces & wings.. The fairies will fit in with the whole scheme of things.
No, I don’t cook cakes professionally – it’s just a hobby. I do themed birthday cakes, it’ll be my first wedding cake.. good thing it’s mine huh!! I can screw it up and not feel guilty! 
I like the idea but would skip the “fairy” look for the kids, just fancy fall-colored dresses and suits would suffice and maintain a mature demeanor for your otherwise lovely plans. Maybe skip the arch and just use a grove of trees as your backdrop. Plenty of mums and lilies and pumpkins and gourds, maybe hollow out some pumpkins and put the flowers in them in pots. Your cake could just be ivory with lots of sugared fall leaves and berries, very pretty and simple! Or you could do spice cake with cream cheese frosting as well, yum! It’s going to be really beautiful no matter what you do because you want everything to look natural.
