Why do people put so much stock into the idea of getting married?
I see some people and they talk about “dying alone” like it’s the worst thing that could ever happen in the whole wide world.
Why is this? I’ve always just kinda tried to take life as it comes. Maybe I’ll get married…maybe I won’t.
I’ve never understood it either. The fear of dying alone doesn’t make a whole lot of sense. If you’re married it’s not like you’re going to take the person with you. When you die it’s still just you dying.
I think people just look at it as the regular direction to take in life. School, Job, Marriage, House, Kids, Retire. It gives them something to work towards, rather than feeling as though they’re drifting aimlessly through life.
