There are three different kinds of trout fishing lures that I have used over and over again with great success. Now these lures are for spin fishing, not fly fishing.
1 My all time favorite trout fishing lure is the Little Cleo. The little cleo is an artificial spoon lure that comes in several different colors and sizes. The spoon will wobble in order to imitate the look of a bait fish. The two colors that work for me are gold and silver. There are several other colors that are not shiny, but these lures have not worked very well for me. Here is my reasoning behind the success of the shiny gold and silver little cleo’s. Trout, just like any other fish, have a lateral link that is sort of like a spinal chord. Now if my memory is correct, then the vicrations and look of this lure basically causes a predatory reflex that almost makes them attack it. Like I said, I think that that is how it works.
2. The panther martin is another great trout fishing lure. The best combo that I have used in this lure is the yellow with red dots and a silver spoon on it. The panther marting has proven its worth in the lure industry for trout.
3. The rooster tail is the next artificial bait that I am going to discuss. The rooster tail has a small spoon on it like the panther martin, but it also has a small patch of hair on the end.Most of the lures that I have discussed have treble hooks which increase the odds of a good hook up. Rooster tail are about the most inverse lure in the trout fishing lure industry. They have been around for a long time and come in many color and size combinations.
