Can I wear a full bridal gown with veil and tiara to renew my vows?
My husband and I got married 5 years ago and we had a nice wedding, but we got married to make things right. We are a pretty religious couple and living together unmarried was against our belief. We had a traditional wedding and reception in a church. Our finances couldn’t afford the real wedding we wanted to have. We love each other so much and want to have that beautiful ceremony that we both deserve. Well it has only been five years of marriage and we are planning our vow renewal ceremony this up coming July. I want to be a bride again with all the trimmings. What do you all think about us going all out this time around?
Don’t listen to any boneheads who worry themselves silly about things that don’t concern them. They should get an education and focus on the REAL problems in this world, such as wars, child abuse, poverty, etc. THOSE are topics to worry about, not what someone wants to do for renewing their wedding vows. Unless it’s *their* wedding, they should care less.
Life is too short to give 2 cents what others think. It takes a lifetime to learn that, and by then, it’s too late.
Do whatever you want…YOU’RE paying for it. Who care what people think? No one will die if you wear your gown twice (or whatever you choose to do). 
Some people renew their vows naked on a beach, others in their basement, still others decked out in their full bridal wear in a formal ceremony. Honestly, when it’s your true friends and family there, they will support you no matter what.
As long as you don’t go too over the top (don’t register for gifts!!!), do your “re-do” just as you want it. Some couples (namely Heidi Klum and Seal) have a big re-do bash every year.
There is no “rule book” you have to follow. You can wear anything you want.
