Holiday in France – September’s the month to go!
September is one of the very best months to visit France. Not only will you get to enjoy plenty of sunshine and warm weather, but the tourist season is beginning to wind down — which means cheaper travel, lower rates at hotels, and a far greater choice of French holiday rentals offering availability. American Film Festival – Normandy 3 – 12 Sep 2010
Once a year, the chic resort of Deauville hosts a festival to rival Cannes, where the year’s best American films are previewed. Hollywood stars descend on the town to premiere their latest movies. The festival is now in its 35th year.
Grande Braderie de Lille – Nord-Pas-de-Calais 4 – 5 Sep 2010
The first weekend each September, Lille is transformed into one gigantic car boot sale, where locals come and sell their unwanted items on the street pavements. The event attracts around two million bargain hunters each year all looking for a little treasure or two.
The 48 hr European Vintage Car Parade – Aube 10 Sep – 12 Sep 2010
This exciting event is now in its 15th year. Around 400 vehicles from across Europe gather in Aube to parade their vintage cars through the department.
Feria du Riz & Course de Satin Horse Race – Bouches-du-Rhone 10 – 12 Sep 2010
Each year, the famous Arles Festival is officially opened by a high-speed Course de Satin horse race, which takes place in the city Arena.
Marathon running and wine tasting in the Medoc! Sept 11th 2010

Biarritz Dance Festival – Pyrenees Orientales 11 – 20 Sep 2010
Le Temps d’Aimer La Danse is held in Biarritz each September and is one of Europes best dance festivals. For those who wish to spectate rather than participate, there is plenty of dancing to be enjoyed.
Medieval Festival – Vaucluse 11 – 12 Sep 2010
This is the 5th Medieval Festival to be held at Les Carmes. Come and enjoy the family festivities as Avignon goes back into Middle Ages.
The 9th Randissimo – Loire-Atlantique 11 – 12 Sep 2010
The Randissimo is an annual weekend event, now in its 9th year, which welcomes people of all ages to come and explore the vineyards and local scenery of the Clisson Valley, either on foot or by paddle!
Renoir in the 20th century September 23rd, 2009 through January 4th, 2010.
The Galeries Nationales du Grand Palais is hosting a show exploring a little-known period from French artist Pierre Auguste Renoir: his last one. Decorative paintings, drawings, sculpture and other works show how Renoir’s influence extended well into the 20th century.
Féria des Vendanges – Nimes 24 – 26 Sep 2010
This Féria celebrates the grape harvest and – typically of Southern France – couples it with bullfighting events. Come and be a part of this spontaneous family event.
Saint Tropez Regatta (Les Voiles de Saint-Tropez) 26 Sep – 04 Oct 2010
Les Voiles de Saint-Tropez is an an amazing rendezvous of yachts. The regatta gathers together the most extraordinary modern sailing boats alongside the most beautiful traditional yachts during the first week of October. Sailing enthusiasts come from all the corners of the globe to do battle in the bay of Saint Tropez. A sight not to be missed.
